#5 - Emerge

Our fifth project, "Emerge" saw Poetica collaborate with FESTA - The Festival of Transitional Architecture, in October 2014. We created a floating poem - a segment of "The Wild Swans at Coole" by William Butler Yeats, and placed it in the Ōtākaro (Avon) River, near the Hereford Street bridge.  To open our project, we gathered on the bank of the river and Sean Joyce read the poem aloud; other local poets were then invited to share their work before we invited everyone to paint water poems along the riverside path.

Many thanks to the Jess and the team at FESTA, Sean Joyce, and all those who shared their poetry and participated in the project.
